Released in 1994 this film proved to be a blockbuster. Sridevi was offered this film but she refused to do it. Apart from Sridevi this film was also offered to Kajol. Both of them rejected the offer for the movie directed by Mehul Kumar. Dimple Kapadia was offered the lead role According to IMDb the role of Megha Dixit played by Dimple Kapadia was first offered to Sridevi but she turned it down. Similarly the role of Mamta played by Mamta Kulkarni was also offered to Kajol but she turned it down. Krantiveer turned out to be the third highest-grossing film of the year 1994. Krantiveer won three Screen Awards four Filmfare Awards and a National Film Award. The film has been remade in Telugu as Punya Bhoomi Naa Desam (1995) and in Kannada as Parodi (2007). Krantiveer: The Revolution a sequel was released in 2010. This film has a rating of 7.4 out of 10 on IMDb.
