To make mushroom manchurian you need (ingredients):
For mushroom coating:
Flour – ½ cup
Cornflour – 3 tbsp
Ginger-garlic paste-1 tsp
Black Pepper Powder – ½ tsp
Soya Sauce – 1 tsp
Water – ⅓ cup (can be slightly less or more as per requirement)
Sugar – ½ tsp
Salt – as per your taste
For frying mushrooms:
Mushrooms – 250 Grams (Approximately One Packet)
Oil – For Frying
For making manchurian sauce:
Oil-1-2 tbsp
Spring onion – ⅓ cup (Finely Chopped, Keep White and Green Part Separate)
Green Chilli-2-3 (Finely Chopped, You Can Adjust the Spiciness as per your requirement)
Garlic – 2 TSP (Finely Chopped) Chopped)
Ginger – 2 tsp (finly chopped)
Capsicum – 1 (You can also use finally chopped, colorful Capsicum!)
Salt, soy sauce, black pepper – to taste
An important thing: The original recipe mentions “CELERY”, but it is not easy available in Indian kitchens. You can skip it or use coriander leaves in its place, although the taste will change a bit.
Easy way to make mushroom manchurian:
Preparation of mushrooms: First of all, wash the mushrooms well and drain all the water. If the mushrooms are big, cut them into two or four pieces. Cut off the hard part of their stem and remove it.
Make the batter: Mix Flour, Cornflour, Ginger-Garlic Paste, Black Pepper, Soy Sauce, Sugar and Salt in a large vessel. Now add water slowly to it and prepare a thick and smooth batter. Keep in Mind, The Batter Should Neither Be Too Thin Nor Too Thick.
Fry the mushrooms: Heat oil in a pan. The oil should be medium hot. Dip the mushrooms well in the prepared batter and coat them. Now slowly add them to the hot oil. Fry the mushrooms on both sides until golden and crispy. Then Remove them from the oil and keep them aside.
Preparation of manchurian sauce:
Now heat 1-2 tbsp oil in a pan. Add the white part of the spring onion and fry for 1 minute.
After this, add Chopped Green Chilies, Ginger and Garlic and Fry Till the Fragrance Comes Out. Now add Chopped Capsicum and Green Part of the spring onion and fry for 1 more minute.
Now add black pepper powder, salt, sugar and soya sauce and mix well.
Final Step: Add the fried crispy mushrooms to this sauce and mix well so that the sauce gets applied on all sides of the mushrooms. That’s it, your Mushroom Manchurian is Ready!
Serving method and some important things:
Serve the hot mushroom manchurian garnished with chopped green onions and enjoy its spicy taste. You can eat it as a starter or you can also enjoy it with fried rice and noodles.
