To apply for a PAN card, it is necessary to have an Aadhaar card. According to the new rules, a PAN card cannot be issued without an Aadhaar. The Central Board of Direct has given this information to the people. The accountability in filing taxes through the online process needs to be increased.

The new rules will be implemented as of July 1, 2025. The new rules are going to prove effective for the public. However, it has become necessary to link the Aadhaar card with the PAN card. For this, you can work without any penalty fee till December 31.
Know which documents are necessary?
New rules will be implemented for PAN card application on the Income Tax portal from July. According to the Economic Times report, this information has been shared. Any person can apply for a PAN card using their own rules, birth certificate or alternative identity papers.

A senior official informed that the decision to implement Aadhaar-based verification has been taken as part of the digitisation campaign and efforts to ensure accountability in tax filing. If you apply for a new PAN card after July 1, 2025, for any reason, you will be required to have an Aadhaar card. Additionally, your Aadhaar card can be used for verification to proceed with your PAN card application.

It is necessary to link the PAN card with the Aadhaar.

In the current circumstances, it has become mandatory for PAN cardholders to link their Aadhaar card. If this work is not done, all your work can get stuck in the middle. For this, the government has set the date of December 31, 2025. Meaning you can do this work without penalty. Many cases of the use of PAN cards in fake GST registration were also reported.
