Manchester United are more determined than ever to sell Alejandro Garnacho following his recent antics. United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe is even prepared to slash his asking price to expedite the Argentine winger's departure.

The club have remained silent on Garnacho's decision to sport an Aston Villa shirt bearing Marcus Rashford's name whilst holidaying in Ibiza. However, behind closed doors, club chiefs are said to be fuming over the incident and are doubling down on their efforts to sell the player.

Despite valuing Garnacho at £60million, United recognise that his fallout with Ruben Amorim and their eagerness to part ways with him mean they're unlikely to achieve this figure. They may have to settle for a bid closer to £45m, but are willing to do so to secure a deal for Garnacho.

This sum would be considered pure profit under profit and sustainability rules, given Garnacho's status as an academy graduate, having joined the youth system from Atletico Madrid in 2020 as a teenager.

The same situation applies to Rashford, who is also seeking a new club this summer. United are hoping to fetch around £40m for the England forward, but his hefty £300,000-a-week wages are deterring potential buyers.

Rashford spent the latter half of last season on loan at Aston Villa and may be compelled to spend the upcoming season on a similar arrangement with another club. Barcelona are exploring a loan deal.

Garnacho found himself out of favour with Amorim in December and once more at the end of the previous season, when he was omitted from the starting eleven for their 1-0 Europa League final loss to Tottenham in Bilbao.
