SSC Stenographer 2025 Recruitment: The Staff Selection Commission is going to close the registration window for Stenographer Grade C and D recruitment very soon. The last date to register to join this recruitment to be held for 261 posts is June 26, 2025, which is very close. In such a situation, the candidates who have not registered yet, should immediately fill and submit their form and pay the prescribed fee.

Through this recruitment drive, recruitment will be done for the posts of Stenographer in various ministries, departments, and organizations of the Central Government. The online application fee has to be paid by 11 pm on June 27. The time to make amendments to the application form will be from July 1 to July 2 at 11 pm. The examination will be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode from August 6 to 11, 2025.

SSC Stenographer 2025 Eligibility: Qualification and Criteria

It is necessary to pass 10+2 (Intermediate) from a recognized board. Along with this, transcription should be 50 minutes in English 65 minutes in Hindi for applying for Group D posts and 40 minutes in English, and 55 minutes in Hindi for Group C.

Candidates should be between 18 to 30 years of age as of August 1, 2025. Applicants for Stenographer Grade D should be between 18 to 27 years of age as of August 1, 2025.

SSC Stenographer 2025 Exam Pattern: Pattern of Exam
The computer-based exam will have a total of 200 multiple-choice questions, which will include three main subjects as General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness, and English Language and Comprehension. 1 mark will be given for the correct answer and a negative marking of 0.25 marks will be given for each wrong answer. The duration of the exam will be two hours and it will be in both Hindi and English languages.

Candidates who pass the computer-based test will be called for a skill test, the skill test is only qualifying in nature. Candidates will have to listen to the dictation and transcribe it. Dictation speed for Stenographer Grade 'C' is 100 words per minute and for Grade 'D' it is 80 words per minute. The time for transcription is fixed according to language and category, like for Grade 'C' 40 minutes in English and 55 minutes in Hindi, while for Grade 'D' 50 minutes in English and 65 minutes in Hindi will be given.
