Aside from making headlines for breaking records through music, Taylor has been in the spotlight for her romance. In the recent turn of events, when Taylor Swift started dating an NFL player, the viewership hiked, and the fans wanted to see her celebrate in the VIP box. Since the debut, Swift hasn’t shied away from making the individuals stand in the corner and think about what they did. With her versatile discography, Swift has expressed her views about the situation or the person from her life, and the fans are obsessed with it.

So, hey, let’s take a look at the inspirations behind a couple of songs, because she is the ‘Taylor Swift,’ and they are just her romances!


Travis Kelce
Started with the friendship bracelets, now they run towards each other, leaving the trophies behind.

In July 2023, Kelce, the aforementioned NFL star, revealed his disappointment with not being able to give his phone number through a friendship bracelet during Taylor’s Eras Tour concert in Kansas City. In December, Taylor confirmed her relationship with the NFL player by stating, “This all started when Travis very adorably put me on blast on his podcast, which I thought was metal as hell.”

Later, when Taylor released her 11th studio album, ‘The Tortured Poets Department,’ the fans accurately guessed a couple of songs, such as ‘So High School’ and ‘The Alchemy,’ that hinted towards the relationship.

Furthermore, Swifties have heard ‘Karma is the guy on the Chiefs’ at the concert and ‘My Boyfriend, Travis’ at the VMAS, which attested to the romantic trope-like relationship between Kelce and Swift.

If you were to ask a Swiftie about the timeline, they would probably give you the exact time and place of the meet-cute. However, the relationship wasn’t official until May 2017, and they broke up in April 2023 during the Eras Tour.

In a June 2024 magazine interview with The Sunday Times' Style magazine, Alwyn revealed that it had been a hard split. “As everyone knows, we together—both of us, mutually—decided to keep the more private details of our relationship private. It was never something to commodify, and I see no reason to change that now,” Joe said.

“And, look, this is also a little over a year ago now, and I feel fortunate to be in a great place in my life, professionally and personally,” he stated, and thus the king of Swift’s heart became the loss of her life.

While the exact reason has never been mentioned by any of them, some crumbs were disclosed in Swift’s albums.

During the MET Gala 2016, the ‘Avengers’ alum met the ‘Endgame’ singer, where one of the attendees shot video of them dancing together at the party. They were spotted with each other during various occasions and dinner dates; however, the couple called it quits.

Additionally, the theorists suggest that Hiddleston helped her escape the relationship with Calvin Harris in the song ‘Getaway Car’ in her album ‘Reputation.’ 'The ties were black / the lies were white / I wanted to leave him, I needed a reason,' the lyrics state.

In a 2017 interview with GQ, Hiddleston stated, “Taylor is an amazing woman. She’s generous and kind and lovely, and we had the best time. Of course it was real,” brushing off the rumours of the relationship being a PR stunt.

Calvin Harris and Taylor Swift met in 2015 and were introduced by Ellie Goulding. Eventually, they started dating a month afterwards, which was confirmed by Harris posting a pic of a one-year anniversary cake on his Instagram. However, the duo split up in May 2016.

They were spotted together in October 2010 at the backstage of Saturday Night Live shoot, and in December 2010, when they were quite cuddly during a stroll in winter. However, the source confirmed in January 2011 that they had separated a month ago, according to People.

John Mayer
John Mayer wrote a tweet in March 2009 that Taylor ‘Would’ve, Could’ve, Should’ve’ collaborated with him - and they did. When Swift was 18 and John was 31, they collaborated on ‘Half of My Heart.’
