Uttar Pradesh Weather: Over the last several days, people in Uttar Pradesh have been suffering from extreme heat, made worse by strong winds. A heat wave warning has been issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) for over 30 districts in the state, effective Wednesday, May 14. It is anticipated that the heat will last until at least May 20.

Uttar Pradesh: High Temperatures Affect More Than 24 Districts
Temperatures exceeding 40 degrees Celsius were reported in a number of locations Tuesday. The highest temperature in the state was 44.2 degrees Celsius in Banda and 41.4 degrees Celsius in Lucknow. Daytime highs of above 40 degrees Celsius were also recorded in cities including Ghazipur, Varanasi, Prayagraj, and Gorakhpur. Atul Kumar Singh, a meteorologist, claims that high daytime temperatures are now beginning to interfere with everyday living in more than 24 districts of Uttar Pradesh. Not only have the days been unbearably hot, but so have the nights.

According to the IMD, the heatwave will last until May 20.
The lowest temperature at night in Agra, Aligarh, and Ghazipur was around 27 degrees Celsius, which is over five degrees higher than normal. According to the meteorological service, several areas of the state will experience heat wave conditions until May 20.

Weather Forecast for Uttar Pradesh: Heatwave Warning
While no warning has been issued for the eastern half of the state on May 13, isolated places in western Uttar Pradesh are expected to see a thunderstorm with strong gusts. Heat wave conditions are predicted to start impacting isolated areas of eastern Uttar Pradesh on May 14 and to continue to rise throughout the week in both regions.

Heatwave is the weather forecast for Lucknow.
Temperatures in Lucknow are expected to rise gradually. The highest temperature will be between 42 and 45 degrees Celsius from May 13 to May 19. From May 15 forward, the weather will continue to be dry with clear skies. Heat wave conditions are predicted on May 16 and 17. The average nighttime temperature will be between 26 and 29 degrees Celsius.

Weather Forecast for Prayagraj: Heatwave Warning
Temperatures in Prayagraj will rise much more. Maximum temperatures will be between 43 and 45 degrees Celsius starting on May 13. From May 15 to May 19, heat wave conditions are predicted to continue, with a minimum temperature of 26 to 28 degrees Celsius. In the early days, strong surface winds are also anticipated.
