Traffic chaos hit as large delays were reported on the M6 and M5 in the Black Country. The huge tailbacks have resulted from a three-car collision.
In a statement, West Midlands Ambulance service confirmed that it was called to reports of a road traffic collision at junction 9 of the M6 Northbound near Palfrey at 8.15am.
A spokesperson said: "An ambulance was sent to the scene where, on arrival, crews discovered three cars had been involved in a collision.
"A woman was treated for injuries not believed to be serious and conveyed to Walsall Manor Hospital," they added.
Lanes 1, 2 and 3 (of 4) had been closed on the M6 northbound between J8 (M5) and J9 (Wednesbury), but in a subsequent update National Highways said all lanes have reopened on the M6 but "residual delays" remain. A spokesperson said: "All lanes have re-opened on the M6 northbound between J8 (M5) and J9 (Wednesbury) following a collision."
