BYC said that it will keep bringing attention to the continuing “Baloch genocide and state repression” by using a variety of strategies, including collective action, education, and mobilization.
“Hub | Calm Corner Meeting by BYC Lasbela” was written on X. Police intimidation disrupted a peaceful corner meeting held in Rasheedabad, Hub, today by the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) Lasbela area.
A disproportionate police force was used in an obvious effort to quell protest; in addition to harassing the public, they illegally detained three regular people and took them to the police station without cause. The police were compelled to free the guys who had been arrested when the relatives of those who had been imprisoned blocked the route in protest of this injustice. BYC said that its fight will not be stopped by any amount of intimidation. Through political education, collective action, and grassroots mobilization, BYC will keep exposing and opposing the continuing state repression and the genocide of the Baloch people.
Enforced disappearances continue to be a troubling trend in the Balochistan area; some victims are finally freed, while others are subjected to targeted murders or prolonged captivity. Locals’ rising sense of unease and distrust has been fueled by these abuses of basic rights.
Balochistan is still unstable due to the ongoing dread of arbitrary arrests and the lack of accountability, which undermines attempts to bring about justice, peace, and public trust in government institutions.
