New Delhi: A case of Lasa fever was reported in western Africa. Due to which a patient died, a person dying from this disease was kept in isolation at the University of Iowa Health Care Medical Center in Iowa City. He died on the afternoon of 29 October. What is lasa fever

Lasa fever is a viral disease caused by Lasa virus. It spreads from a rat called Mastomis Natalansis. It is found in parts of West Africa. According to the Disease Control and Prevention Center (CDC), Lasa fever can be fatal. This viral disease is considered spatial in Ghana, Benin, Liberia, Guinea Mali, Sierra Leone, Togo and Nigeria. The first case of this sick came in 1969. The disease is named after Nigeria, where it was first treated.

Symptoms of lasa fever

This disease begins with symptoms like general weakness and fever. At the same time, after a few days, it shows some additional symptoms. Such as headache, sore throat, muscle pain, chest pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, cough and abdominal pain. This disease has a period of 6 to 21 days. Its symptoms usually appear 1 to 3 weeks after infection. In severe cases, often the 14 -day death dies after the onset of symptoms.
