Skai Jackson has asked the courts to intervene.

The Disney Channel alum, 23, has filed a restraining order in Los Angeles County Superior Court against her son Kasai 's father, Deondre Burgin , citing domestic abuse charges. TMZ was the first to report the story.

According to People, Jackson said Burgin assaulted her earlier this month on Mother's Day while she was holding their newborn boy. She claimed that Burgin grabbed her by the hair, slammed her head into a car window, and hit her in the face.

Jackson also claimed that Burgin committed domestic abuse against her during their relationship. According to the documents, she told the judge that she had been mistreated on a weekly basis for six months. She claimed that Burgin would choke her, scrape her, and slam her head against walls.

In addition to physical assault, the actress alleged that he ruined her personal belongings, such as an iPhone and a television.

Jackson said that Burgin ordered she consume bleach to kill their unborn child when she was pregnant and that he held her at knifepoint. While walking her to her car, she claimed Burgin threatened to stab her in the stomach if she called for help.


She also described another event, for which she claims to have video evidence. She claimed Burgin punched through a bathroom door after she locked herself in. She alleged he threw her against a wall and "choked me until I could not breathe."

"The safety and well-being of her family is her top priority," the insider said. "This restraining order was filed as a necessary measure to protect her and her child from continued harassment and threats."


Jackson announced in January 2025 that she and Burgin, whom she did not publicly identify at the time, had received their newborn by posting a photo of herself holding the baby's hands on Jan. 26. She captioned the photo, "Kasai."

"I love being a new mother. It's quite exciting. "Very exciting," Jackson added. "I'm here tonight, and I immediately miss my baby. But I've had a wonderful month with my new baby."

"I feel like being a mum and juggling everything probably has to be one of the hardest jobs, but it's such a rewarding job because I'm doing it for him at the end of the day," she told me. "So I definitely learnt something about myself. I can handle anything at this point."
