Actor Nusraat Faria , who recently portrayed former Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina in Mujib: The Making of a Nation, was granted bail on Tuesday against Taka 5,000 bond by a Dhaka court. She was arrested on May 18 at Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport while attempting to fly to Thailand. She was taken into custody in connection with an attempted murder case tied to last year’s anti-government protests in Bangladesh. Her arrest came as a shock to her Tollywood collaborators.
“She is a bright, talented, and very well-mannered individual,” said Bibaho Obhijaan director Birsa Dasgupta. “The charges against her seem completely out of character.”
Baba Yadav, who directed her in Boss 2 , said, “Nusraat is a sensible woman from an educated background — she even studied law. On set, she was always polite and professional.”
Cinematographer and director Soumik Halder, who worked with Faria in both a music video and Abar Bibaho Obhijaan , said, “She’s a professional and a delight to work with. I hope she overcomes this with strength.”
I’ve worked with Nusraat & found her to be respectful to everyone on set. I read the news of her getting bail on Tuesday
