Adam Ramey dead: Dropout Kings singer dies aged 31 as devastated bandmates pay tribute

Adam Ramey, founding member and vocalist of Dropout Kings has at the age of 31. The rap metal band announced the news in an emotional Instagram post. His death occured on May 19 but is only just becoming widely known now. His death occured just five days before he turned 32.

"With the heaviest hearts, we share that our brother, Adam Ramey has passed away. His passion, energy, and love for music shaped Dropout Kings and touched countless lives. We're devastated to say the least, but Adam's spirit, charisma and energy will not only forever inspire us, but will push us into the future to be the best that we can. We appreciate you all during this time and know he absolutely did as well for all the times we've shared. Thank you for everything, Chip. Rest in power, Adam. We'll always love you more than any words can say fam," they wrote.

The band had only just released their latest single, Poison Run, with Hopsydian in January and were scheduled to perform a series of tour dates throughout North America and Europe from May through to August.

His sister in law Jamie Varner revealed in a set up for his wife and child that he died by "suicide after a long and painful battle with addiction".

Explaining the reason for the fundraiser she wrote: "On May 19th, just five days before his 32nd birthday, we lost Adam Ramey-beloved husband, father, son, and lead vocalist of Dropout Kings-to suicide after a long and painful battle with addiction.

"Adam wasn't just my brother-in-law. He was like a real brother to me. He saved my life during one of my darkest times and always showed up for the people he loved. He brought life and energy to every room, every family gathering, and every stage he stepped on. Watching him perform-especially at local shows in Phoenix or when he came to Tampa-was unforgettable.

"Adam loved deeply. He was a devoted husband to my 29-year-old sister, Jamie, and a proud father to their 18-month-old son, Jude. He was also an incredible uncle, friend, and human being. Now Jamie is left grieving the love of her life while raising their baby boy alone. She's facing not only unimaginable heartbreak but also the financial weight of funeral expenses and legal costs," she wrote.

Devastated fans expressed their heartache on social media commenting on the original Instagram announcement. "Rest in peace to an absolute legend. So sad , so sorry for his family and friends. Seriously one of the most genuine dudes. Life is crazy and often cruel," one commented.

"I'll never get over this, but I will love you forever and use every breath I have left in my body to be the person you always inspired me to be and said that I was! I love you so much fam, I can't wait to see you again! Can't stop won't stop, we gon make sure everyone knows your name and respects what we built! Idc what it takes I SWEAR TO GOD!" another wrote.

A third added: "I'm so sorry. My deepest condolences to everyone who was close to Adam. I just wanted to thank you for allowing us to enjoy Adam's voice and your music...He was a person full of love and talent. He will be deeply missed."

Meanwhile a fourth penned: "Very sad news.. Our heart goes out to Adams family, all the Dropout kings, the fans and everyone he touched. Rest peacefully."
