All-rounder Krunal Pandya, of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), had a bizarre dismissal during the IPL 2025 match against SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) at Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow, on Friday, May 23. Chasing a large total, RCB required 46 runs in just 8 balls after losing Pandya who hit his stumps while reaching for a wide yorker.

The unusual dismissal occurred in the 19th over of RCB's innings. SRH captain Pat Cummins bowled a beautiful wide yorker well out of Pandya's range. Pandya, in an attempt to make room, lost his footing and knocked over the stumps to be out for 8 runs from 6 balls. The delivery was also Cummins' second wicket of the over after dismissing Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Cummins finished strongly with 3/28 from four overs.

SRH was clinical throughout and produced an all-round performance to win by 42 runs, ending RCB's hopes of progressing into the playoffs with a top two finish.

SRH batted first and scored 231/6 in their innings. The openers, Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head, came out firing scoring 34(17) and 17(10). Ishan Kishan finished with an amazing 94*(48) score with five sixes and seven fours, to go along with Aniket Verma and Heinrich Klaasen adding 26(9) and 24(13), and Cummins and Abhinav Manohar each providing decent scores of 13*(6) and 12(11), respectively.
