Indore (Madhya Pradesh): The search operation by the NDRF and Meghalaya police, aided by drones, continued on the tenth day after three days of torrential rain finally subsided.

However, there is still no trace of the missing city-based couple — Raja and Sonam Raghuwanshi — who went missing in Sohra (Cherrapunji), Meghalaya, on May 23.

Raja’s brother Arpit said that the operation had been suspended over the past three days due to relentless rainfall in the region. It resumed on Sunday and continued until late evening as weather conditions improved.

DCP Rajesh Tripathi said, “I have been in continuous contact with their family members and I have also been discussing the situation daily with the Superintendent of Police in Shillong.

The major challenge is the persistent heavy rainfall and the difficult terrain, which includes deep and uneven valleys, making the search extremely challenging. So far, the local police have not made any contact at the suspected location and no information indicating any criminal activity has been received.”

Raja’s brother who is in Meghalaya also informed Tripathi that two dedicated search parties have been formed. These teams are combing a 3–4 km radius around the location where the couple’s scooter was found, venturing deep into the valley in the hope of finding any clue.
