are on the brink of securing a double signing, with AC Milan's Tijjani Reijnders and Lyon's Rayan Cherki set to join for £46million and £25million respectively. City have settled on a fee with Milan for midfielder Reijnders and are eager to finalise the transfer before the Club World Cup commences.

Personal terms have also been agreed with Lyon's attacking midfielder Cherki. Dutch international Reijnders, 26, has consented to a five-year contract at the Etihad, worth approximately £200,000 per week.

The deal, which is contingent on a medical examination, includes additional payments if certain conditions are met. Reijnders is currently participating in the World Cup qualifiers with his national team but is expected to undergo his medical within the next week.

The Club World Cup begins on June 14. Pep Guardiola identified Reijnders as a suitable replacement for Kevin De Bruyne.

De Bruyne is set to depart City for Napoli, having failed to secure a new contract, and is not anticipated to be part of Guardiola's squad for the Club World Cup in America.

In addition to De Bruyne's exit, Mateo Kovacic will be sidelined for several months due to a severe injury, while Rodri is just making a comeback from a lengthy absence following knee surgery.

Reijnders moved to Milan from AZ Alkmar in 2023 and has since established himself as one of Europe's top midfielders.

He has earned 22 caps for Holland. Cherki, 21, is a product of Lyon's youth academy and has featured as an attacking midfielder or winger.
