Youth Congress Responds to Allegations
In Bhubaneswar, the Odisha Pradesh Youth Congress (OPYC) has criticized Puri MP Sambit Patra for his inflammatory comments suggesting that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is a 'paid agent' of both Pakistan and China. During a press conference held at Congress Bhawan on Friday, OPYC president Ranjit Patra labeled Sambit's remarks as 'derogatory' and 'unfit for a public figure'. He accused Sambit of frequently making provocative statements to gain attention, recalling a previous incident where Sambit controversially referred to Lord Jagannath as a devotee of Prime Minister Modi, which sparked significant backlash. Ranjit stated, 'To label Rahul Gandhi a traitor is not only unfounded but also deeply offensive. These are the outbursts of someone desperate for attention at the expense of their own dignity.' Additionally, Bhubaneswar Congress Lok Sabha candidate Syed Yasir Nawaz criticized the BJP for its hypocrisy, asserting that if there is any connection to China, it lies with the Modi administration, which has approved security clearances for various Chinese companies. He questioned how an MP could make such serious allegations without official backing.
