Singh's health suddenly deteriorated during the journey. Many emergency calls were made for his help but medical help could not reach on time.
Repeated efforts were made to get help but no help arrived. He died before the train reached Mathura station.
I was on the train on Wednesday night
Singh and his companions boarded the Chhattisgarh Express from Hazrat Nizamuddin station on Wednesday night. Soon after the train departed, he started experiencing severe pain and as the train approached Mathura, his condition deteriorated rapidly.
Did not get help on time
TOI quoted the report as saying that an emergency call was made to the railway helpline at 4:58 am, seeking immediate medical assistance. Despite calling several times, no help was received.
The train was delayed by about 90 minutes and finally arrived at Mathura station at 8:10 am. By then, Singh had died. "He was writhing in pain right in front of our eyes. We kept calling for help, but nobody came," said one of his grieving companions.
