Although Nick Woltemade is attracting interest from several clubs, VfB Stuttgart boss Fabian Wohlgemuth is confident the striker will stay with the club for the upcoming season.
One of the breakout stars of the 2024/25 Bundesliga campaign, VfB Stuttgart’s Nick Woltemade has been heavily linked with a move away.
Bayern Munich, Atlético Madrid, and Chelsea are just some of the clubs reportedly interested in the German star.
However, according to Kicker, Stuttgart have not yet received any concrete inquiries for him.
Meanwhile, it has been reported that Stuttgart have been trying to extend Woltemade’s contract, which currently runs until 2028, on better terms – but to no avail so far.
According to Kicker, Woltemade has been offered a doubling of his salary, currently at €1.5 million per year, but negotiations are deadlocked as the striker’s management is demanding more.
Nevertheless, at least publicly, Stuttgart don’t seem worried about losing their star striker.
“Even if the public impression has arisen that Nick’s future is somehow open, we are far from worrying about his staying at VfB,” said sporting director Fabian Wohlgemuth to Kicker.
“We know what we have in him. He knows what he has at VfB. We can be absolutely calm. We are firmly planning with him.”
According to Kicker, Stuttgart could still be tempted to sell if an offer between €40-50 million is made.
