

PMREAD MALAYALAM VERSIONTHIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In the wake of reports of heavy rain in the state, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued yellow alert in various districts for three days from today. The possibility of heavy rainfall has been predicted. Heavy rainfall is defined as a situation where rainfall of 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm is expected in 24 hours.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has informed that there is a possibility of isolated rains in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Kannur and Kasaragod in the next three hours. Following the dangerous rise in water level, the state irrigation department has issued orange and yellow alerts in various rivers in Kerala. People living on the banks of these rivers are advised to be cautious. They should not enter or cross the rivers. Those living near the banks should be vigilant. They are also advised to stay away from flood-prone areas as per the directions of the authorities.
